Staff Accountant| Real Estate | East Bay; Hybrid

A nationally recognized real estate development company is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a highly collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and account reconciliations.

Prepare journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and support the month-end and year-end close process.

Assist with preparing financial statements and maintaining accurate accounting records for real estate entities.

Support cash management activities, including bank reconciliations and monitoring account balances.

Prepare audit schedules and provide documentation for external audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and contribute to special projects as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within real estate, real estate development, construction, or a multi-entity environment.

Hands-on experience with full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice processing, coding, and vendor management.

Strong general ledger accounting experience, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.

Experience with Yardi is strongly preferred; familiarity with MRI or similar accounting systems is a plus.

Knowledge of G& A expense coding and invoice processing within an ERP or property management system preferred.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
